Instructions to Authors

 

Scope and editorial policy

 

 

 

Form and preparation of manuscripts

 

Entries must be unpublished and adapt to the guidelines below:

  • 1) The authors or send an original (with name and affiliation) on paper, a copy on diskette (in Word format. RTF) and an electronic copy to the address above. The authors, once accepted the collaboration.

  • 2) The maximum length of contributions with tables, graphs, maps, quotations and references are to the articles of 20 pages (7,000 words) and book reviews for 5 pages (2,000 words) in A4 size sheet, with a 1.5 interlined and font Times New Roman 12.

  • 3) The tables, graphs and maps should be included in separate files and pages of text and made final in laser printing and direct indication of the sources involved. We suggest that the images are stored as. JPG or. Tiff with a gray-scale resolution of 300 dpi or "line art" (B&W) 800 dpi.

  • 4) The title should be placed in bold, centered, not underlined. Iran secondary titles in the left margin, in bold, not underlined. Each separate title from the previous text by double.

  • 5) Author/s in the right margin, with a call footer indicating the place of employment or institutional affiliation and e-mail.

  • 6) The summary of the article is 200 words in spanish and english. This should include 3 key words in Spanish and English.

  • 7) Please do not use abbreviations, do not exaggerate in the use of quotation marks, hyphens, bold or italics. Avoid references such as "op. cit."

  • 8) Paragraphs will begin with an indentation. The quotations should be in quotes if you include in the text. When they exceed four lines of Iran to an extent and with different margins of the main text.

  • 9) The references within the text must be in brackets, author's name, year of publication, and then two points, the number of page or pages. For example, (Ucelay da Cal, 1995:52). Citing two authors, if more than two cited the first author and add et al. For example, (Mases et al. 1998). Different authors cited in the same parentheses should be ordered chronologically and not alphabetically

  • 10) All references cited in the main text or footnotes should be included at the end of the work in alphabetical order by surname of the authors observe the following order:

    • Libros: a) name and surname of the author in normal font and lowercase b) the title of the book in italics; c) place of publication, d) publishing house, e) date or year of publication, f) page (p.) or pages (pp.) if appropriate. All these data should be separated by commas.

    • Artículos: a) name and surname of the author in normal font and lowercase b) title of the article in normal font, lower case and in quotes, c): name of magazine or publication that is included (in italics), d) instead of edition, e) I (t.), volume (vol.) No (No), f) date or year of publication, g) page (p.) or pages (pp.) if appropriate. All these data should be separated by commas. If a newspaper, edition number, month and year of publication and page or pages.
      If there are several works by the same author published in the same year, the distinction between them will be using letters.
      If the author considers it important year of the original edition should be in brackets.
      All works included in the bibliographical list should be referenced in the text.

  • 11) The notes should be placed in the footnotes, with a sequential number.

  • 12)Los trabajos enviados serán evaluados por árbitros externos a la Universidad Nacional del Sur. Oportunamente se comunicará los resultados  de la evaluación.  El rechazo de un manuscrito es definitivo salvo que el evaluador sugiera correcciones y el autor realice los cambios. Los originales no serán devueltos. Los autores son responsables del contenido de sus contribuciones, de la exactitud de sus citas y referencias bibliográficas.

  • 13) Authors are requested to accept the principle of stylistic permit to facilitate the reading of articles without altering their content.

  • 14) Should work favorably evaluated than the space available, the Editor reserves the right to select those to be issued, with the view that issues relating to the various specialties of history are equally represented.

  • 15) The development of these rules aims to unify the graphic quality of Cuadernos del Sur.
