Abstract
VALIENTE, Silvia. Narrativa folklórica y representación del territorio: La fuerza del lugar en la propuesta de Horacio Banegas. Rev. Univ. geogr. [online]. 2007, vol.16, n.1, pp. 79-98. ISSN 1852-4265.
This article studies the way folklore narrative leads to the representation of the territory, particularly in the discography proposal of the Santiaguenean singer-author Horacio Banegas analyzed as a study case. This work is comprehended within the critical-historical studies on geography developed in Latin America along the last decade. Specifically, it undertakes the folkloric book song as a type of narrative that accounts for the representation of the Santiaguenean territory and the strength that the local dimension and the place-space acquires there where daily life elapses in front of globalized discourses. The speech technique-analysis considered as the analysis of the referential-semantic components allows to capture on the discoursive surface the historicity of the conflict and elements of fracture with modernity, a fact that is interpreted in the proposal analyzed here as a double vindication. The use of this technique allows to capture the relation text-context and the elements that give sense and thickness of the territory when exposing the way in which people use the land, organize themselves and give sense to the place.
