Abstract

A quasilinearisation method for solving the nonlinear equations is presented. The method works successively in linearizing the nonlinear equations and solving the resulting higher order deformation equations using spectral methods. We illustrate the application of the method by solving the laminar heat transfer problem in a rotating disk. Comparison between the linearisation method and numerical results obtained using the MATLAB in-built bvp4c solver reveals that the linearisation method is accurate and converges at very low orders of the iteration scheme.
