In the grammar of English, middle constructions are defined as a particular syntactic construction, associated with specific semantic features. Instead, in the grammar of Spanish, a similar definition of middle constructions is not feasible because they have no specific grammatical features. In a strict sense, in generic and temporally neutral contexts pronominal constructions, as passive and impersonal ones, and some non pronominal predicates fulfill the definition. In a broad sense,other constructions whose subjects are not internal arguments, would be included. In ths pape I will propose a semantic treatment of the Spanish Middles.
