Resumen

DJAMENT, Leonora. Una teoría del lenguaje y del arte en La metáfora y lo sagrado de Héctor A. Murena. Cuad.Sur, Let. [online]. 2003, n.32-33, pp. 101-110. ISSN 2362-2970.

The purpose of this work is to trace a theory a theory of language and art in the last book written by Héctor A. Murena. Published in 1973, La metáfora y lo sagrado exposes and concludes Murena's ideas on Art and also on the specific work of the artist, by intensifying the "frankfurtians" approchease that he had already adopted in 1950 and, at the same time, by maintaining his earlier spiritual ideas. Thus, the aim of this paper is to discuss the critical operations that appear in Murena's essays, by focusing on both his writing's conditions of possibility and the way in with his texts produce intelligibility. Murena discusses critical discourse and rejects the conceptions of language as a mere medium of sense. He also differs from intellectuals who used to choose Existentialism and Marxism discourses based upon the category of totality. On the contrary, Murena is one those few intellectuals that traces the limits of language and dares to deal with its opacity. Murena's writing experiences the non-plenitude of the critical speech.
