MERCERE, Emiliana. Libro de navíos y borrascas de Daniel Moyano: exilio, identidad, resistencia 1. Cuad.Sur, Let. [online]. 2003, n.32-33, pp. 249-274. ISSN 2362-2970.

The exile caused by the last military dictatorship (1976-1983) can be thought as a condition that passes through different aspects of the text, LNB, and of its context. After going through torture and prison, Daniel Moyano has to go into exile to Madrid in 1976. The novel is written in Spain but it is published in Argentina, in 1983. At a reference level, it is organised in fifteen chapters that narrate exiled people's voyage and their experiences in the repressive Argentina. But it is in the modalities of enunciation where the inscription of exile is produced. Indeed, the figures of paradoxical, fragmentary identity are constructed through different writing procedures: the multiplication of registers and discourse; the digression; the proliferation of micro-accounts; the division of the plot through dreams, memories; the tension between the implicit and the explicit; the temporal and rhythmic fluctuation; the dialectical play between autobiography and biography and its discussion as genre. These mechanisms shape an aesthetic/ideological operation that dismantles the totalitarian representations of identity and history, attacks the imposition of the concept of the "national being", breaks up the axis of official meaning and releases alternative and dissident ways of reading.
