The narrative characteristic of both, Ricardo Piglia in Respiración artificial and Juan José Saer in La pesquisa, causes a shift in the structure of the novel when non conventional detective story genre style is adopted. Enigmas in both tales are multiplied by the tension of the narration ending up in never disclosed secret. Our contry history wich Respiracion artificial represents and conceals in a detective tale code, has become a detective novel in La pesquisa, wich gets to the verge of the myth when retelling and representing our historical past. The aim of this paper will be to trace back the ways in which history and those enigmas footing are represented.
