This work approaches the task of the translator as a way of redefining his or her own poetic vis a vis the texts and authors translated. Through the analysis of the works of Augusto de Campos, it advances the notion of "possessive translation", to account for the kind of translations that are authorized by the crucial presence of the signature of the translator. In this sense, one could affirm that this sort of translations ideally aim, not to the production of yet another a version in a different language, but indeed to the articulation of a new original.
