Abstract

CHAUVIE, Omar. Una larga y amable conversación: Poesía y formas de sociabilidad en los poetas de la década de l880. Cuad.Sur, Let. [online]. 2004, n.34, pp. 165-186. ISSN 2362-2970.

Poetic form- cultured poetry- has a prestige won in the last decades of the nineteen century, is a valuable instrument for a class, but occupy a secondary place in the rising market. In the decade's changes, is not easy to establish generation's differences neither determine a gap in the poetry, just as it can be done with others genres. There is a continuity in respect of previous periods. There is not a gap just as the one produced by the Naturalism in the novel. Poetry has a continuity. It doesn't stay in a historical moment like a characteristic of the period. It suggests, in a way, the idea of an eternal entity, permanent, according to the likes of people who cultivated it. This job it approaches the style of divulging the genre, the actual and necessary comradeship; it also refers to the dominant "author's figure" in that area of the intellectual field, from the testimony of the contemporaries like Martin Garcia Merou, Calixto Oyuela and Pedro Goyena.

Keywords : Argentine Poetry; XIXth Century; Continuity- Rupture.
