Abstract

SIMON, Gabriela. El "efecto travestismo" como política de escritura: acerca de Eva Perón de Copi. Cuad.Sur, Let. [online]. 2005, n.35-36, pp. 115-126. ISSN 1668-7426.

If, as César Aira states, "Eva Perón is a myth for Argentinians: a tale we all know and do not get tired to be told again", in Copi's Eva Perón (1969) the myth is told from another place: it just tries to alter, to disarrenge the myth, to travesty it, mainly through resignified characters -Eva Perón, her mother and others- emerging from a tragic violent farce. This operation, this "travesty effect" -in the sense Severo Sarduy thinks it, i.e., pushing the experience of inversión to its limits- is a work of alteration, strangeness, dislocation, scattered over the chosen language (French), names objects, registers and characters. The present article reflects on this "travesty effect" in Copi's text as an aesthetic act becoming both a writing and a reading politics.
