Abstract

SURGHI, Carlos. Carlos Correas: intolerancia, pasividad, acorralamiento. Cuad.Sur, Let. [online]. 2010, n.40, pp. 189-200. ISSN 1668-7426.

Carlos Correas (1930-2000) -Argentinean essayist, philosopher, member of Contorno group and novelist- has conceived the essay genre as a form which can confront the vitalism of a particular poetic with the accuracy of an extremely singular intellectual posture. In his last book Ensayos de Tolerancia (1999), this conception finds a way of expression which thinks the exposition, the argumentation, the discussion and the opinion of the Argentinean contemporaneity from the autobiography and reflection crossing. Considering the form that this author grants to the essay inside the Argentinean tradition, our text proposes a lecture which studies the figures of intolerance, the passivity and the cornering, attending to the way in which Carlos Correas uses them to give the essay writing an autobiographic turn.

Keywords : Essay; Autobiography; Argentinean literature.
