The 30-year period between the two centuries presents an interesting panorama which poses a number of significant questions to any historian interested in philosophy. Three questions are analyzed in particular from the point of view of methodology: 1) influences: what should be understood by 'influences' and the methods used to detect them. 2) Naming: whether it is valid to use predetermined "-isms" and, if so, to what extent. 3) The positioning of generations: how to organize periodicity and its relevance for the history of philosophy. These cases are illustrated by reference to the Argentine case during the period under consideration and focus on the following thematic areas: philosophical positivism, Krausism, Kantism, Axiology and Bergsonism, from the perspective of the Argentine philosophers who fostered and evaluated them. We intend to transcend the schemes of reductionism and the model known as "transplanting" in order to get a better idea of the reception process and the assimilation of exogenous theories.
