Resumen

BARBOSA, Susana Raquel. Echeverría o el exilio como muerte. Cuad. Sur, Filos. [online]. 2001, n.31-32, pp. 91-99. ISSN 2362-2989.

The proscribed epoch in Esteban Echeverría's life compelled him to exile. When the group Argentine Young Generation break up Esteban Echeverria needs an alternative space to take refuge, out of his country. That system of patriotic ideas and principles had disappeared. For analyzing that philosophical content my interpretation assume a double sight. The first one arises from a philosophy of history, and the second one originates in Echeverria's poetics. From the first sight Echeverria seems to choose the imperial reason, which is considered superior than the spanish reason according to his thought. The hermeneutic of his aesthetic and moral essays, on the contrary, show the triumph of the own world as a desideratum. In other words, the creation of something from nothing is impossible and Echeverria is sure about this; what is available is to receive whatever proceed from out of homeland (ideas, habitudes, praxis) and to suit it with local means. Montevidean exile is not the unique in Echeverria' life. Once in Buenos Aires, when he came from the emblematic Paris as a poet and thinker, he is confined to be a stranger in homeland. Echeverria's aesthetic legacy offers a singular path in order to investigate his exile but his own life is the almost perfect sample of several types of exile: the physical one in Montevideo, the inner one in Buenos Aires and another one which is not typified, the path of growth which belong to whom choose the erratic wandering as way of being.

Palabras llave : Echeverría; Exile; Death.
