BRIEUX OLIVERA, Amelia Carolina. Poder de-otra-manera en situaciones de alteración del cuerpo propio: Aportes para una fenomenología. Cuad. Sur, Filos. [online]. 2010, n.39, pp. 47-63. ISSN 2362-2989.

This abstract presents an image of personal identity in alteration situations of the human body: it shows the I can in a different manner. This expression of the self reflects the intertwining or chiasm between the capacity and resources of its own human body as well as its obstacles and restrictions. We analyze how the alteration of the body operates in the manner of interpellations (or summons) and how the self responds by founding -or attesting- new meanings of a capacity for doing by experience contents, in a historical and vital framework. This article refers to discapacity as an alternative notion to that sustained by health sciences; their conception is based on a purely objective consideration of the physical and/or mental body and its causal incidence on its alterations as well as on the possibility of doing, which is the source of its limitation. The article analyzes and integrates the phenomenology principles of the capacity of an alteration situation, based on certain philosophical developments with regards the human body, the identity dimensions and personal standards by Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Paul Ricoeur.
