This paper tackles the problem of the sublime within Kant's complete system and especially with reference to his aesthetics. We try to prove that Kant's conception of the sublime implies the recognition that the unity of human faculties rests on the indeterminate. In order to prove that we depart from the reconstruction of Kant's aesthetics and its role in his complete system, and then we analize in detail the sentiment of the sublime in that context, and some of the main contributions to the problem from the contemporary philosophy.
