Abstract

INDAVERA STIEBEN, Leandro Gastón. La existencia de contradicciones performativas y su importancia para la crítica al falibilismo ilimitado en Karl-Otto Apel. Cuad. Sur, Filos. [online]. 2010, n.39, pp. 117-134. ISSN 2362-2989.

In this paper, two central topics are analyzed. Firstly, two questions will be answered: Is it possible to avoid performative self-contradictions using ordinary language? And, Why is it so important and necessary for ordinary language to be self-referential? Apel's Towards a transformation of Philosophy will be used in order to answer both. Having analyzed the possibility of performative self-contradictions, I will show their importance in Apel's undertaking of showing the mistakes of falibilisim when claiming the impossibility of an ultimate foundation for valid and universal principles of our speech acts.

Keywords : Apel; Falibilism; Foundation.
