Abstract

DE ROBLES, Silvana. La crítica de Hegel a Kant: elementos para una revisión contemporánea de la cuestión Sittlichkeit Moralität. Cuad. Sur, Filos. [online]. 2010, n.39, pp. 163-180. ISSN 2362-2989.

The Hegelian Sittlichkeit and Kantian Moralität traditions are generally seen as radically opposed. This is due to that the formal and abstract nature of the latter meant for Hegel a loss of the substantial character of the real "ethical world". Nevertheless, after an inquiry on the genuine reasons for that interpretation we will try to show how contemporary practical philosophy is reluctant to see them as mutually exclusive. Both traditions are particularly influential on the main work of the political philosophy of John Rawls, a striking example of the state of this question. Being a self-proclaimed follower of Kant's intentions, Rawls himself took elements from both models of practical thought in order to address successfully in his own theory the deep complexities of the contemporary ethical-political issue.
