MOLINA, Eugenia. Revolución, guerra y vínculos comunitarios: Mendoza y Cuyo entre 1810 y 1820. Cuad. Sur, Hist. [online]. 2003, n.32, pp. 145-170. ISSN 1668-7604.

The aim of this work is to delve deeply into the study of the effects that both the revolution and the war against the Spaniards caused in the societies of the ancient Viceroyship, generating political development within the community bonds, which modified certain values, popular conceptions and collective behaviors. We will focus in Cuyo and Mendoza first foremost because of the peculiarityof the rapid adherence to the movement started in Buenos Aires, which was related to the opportunity to avoid subordination to the intendancy capital, so many times requested from the Crown Secondly, the in situ organization of the Los Andes Army deeply affected the variOus population strata, as strict discipline from public and private behaviors was required, as well as exhaustive control of' circulation and expression and considerable sacrifice of human and economical resources. In order to approach this reality, we will basically employ two types of sources: civil and military summaries; these will allow us to observe how the society incorporated the revolutionary novelties and the good-government parties, like a prism to follow the guidelines that the sphere of power tried to impose.

Palabras llave : Revolution; Viceroyalty; Cuyo.
