Resumen

DI GRESIA, Leandro A.. El Nazismo en escena: un estudio del Parteitag de 1934. Cuad. Sur, Hist. [online]. 2004, n.33, pp. 81-110. ISSN 1668-7604.

The present article approaches the ways of intromission of Nazism in the German social i maging. Specifically, one of the means used by the regime presided by Hitler for generating the representations and practices with regard to his power scheme is outlined here, i.e. massive congregations. The Sixth Congress of the Socialist National Party of German Workers held in 1934 is analysed in detail. This Congress is understood as a political ritual and it is studied from a functional and hermeneutic perspective, considering its own meanings as well as the value of symbols and the environments in which it was held. The work is based on evidence with a common feature: it was either performed from power or it reflects the thinking thereof - such as the film Triumph of the Will, and works like My Struggle; Germany, Olympic Year 1936. The purpose of this survey is to acknowledge that political ceremonies were functional to totalitarian regimes in addition to highlighting the importance of a study focused on symbolic practices considered not only as a "reflection" of social interchanges but also as a constitutive part of social practice, being in many instances a co-developer of such.
