Resumen

MAJUELO GIL, Emilio. Ricardo Zabalza Elorga (1898-1940): Semblanza de un dirigente sindical. Cuad. Sur, Hist. [online]. 2005, n.34, pp. 175-200. ISSN 1668-7604.

This paper highlights the significant role played in spheres of politics and trade unionism by the 1930's leader of the Spanish Socialist Party at the time of the Second Spanish República and the Spanish Civil War. A General Secretary for the major Spanish Farmers' Association, he was later appointed representative at the Spanish Courts and Governor of Valencia. The standing of this prominent politician can be better understood if reference is made to his long stay in Bahía Blanca, where he was a well-known trade union leader, writer, lecturer, and teacher.

Palabras llave : Workers' Movement; Trade Unionism; Biography.
