At the beginning of the 20th Century, French investments in the Blanca bay were centered on a huge project based on both railways and ports. This project was mainly based on the construction of a commercial deep water port at Pareja stream, near the city of Punta Alta. Several factors finally eroded the construction project of an economic network which was an alternative to the one outlined by British capitals.
