MAGLIANO, María. Migración y género: La migración de mujeres bolivianas hacia Argentina en la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Cuad. Sur, Hist. [online]. 2007, n.35-36, pp. 441-467. ISSN 2362-2997.

The traditional meaning of migrant as a man that moved from one country to another for economic reasons, made the migrant woman invisible, although she always participated in the international migratory flows. However, it was in the last decades of the XXth century when there was an increase of research that studied the role of women in migratory movements and the different experiences of migrants, both male and female. One of the most important contributions of the gender approach in the international migratory processes has been the recognition of the essential role of women in these phenomena. The Bolivian migration to Argentina has a long history. Although the presence of Bolivian woman in migratory flow has been constant, it was in the last decades when she began to be considered a central actor in this process. The main goal of this paper is to analyze the evoglution of Bolivian women migration to Argentina from 1950 and to examine the role of these women in this migratory process.
