In the middle of the 19th Century, the need for establishing an ecclesiastical central power gained relevance for the National Government. This seemed a viable solution for confront the persistent ungovernability of the local Churches. So, in 1865 Buenos Aires was appointed archdiocese see by transaction of Bartolomé Mitre, ever since a problematic process was initiated, in which the Local churches had to place into the centralized functioning of the National Church with its see in Buenos Aires. This process was not unique and brings as a result, a set of transformations. Moreover, it had like principal protagonist to the clergy of the Ecclesiastical Chapter House, in the Diocese of Salta. In this present report, we try to propose a line of interpretation that allow us to understand the role that played the Chapter House into a provincial diocese just like Salta, and in e context of deep political and social transformations.
