The paradigm of the sustainable development reinforces the environmental dimension of the "geographic spaciality", after the relationship between society and nature replaces the ideology of the economic unlimited growth with the balance of long term interrelations. It implies, the improvement of the social welfare and of the sustainable handling of resources and services of the natural system, ethically according to the consideration and the respect to the future generations. The work examines the diversity of theoretical-methodological approaches about sustainable development, in particular, the question of environmental risk, constituted at present into a global challenge. Its prevention and caution, following the unequalled postulate on the subject of juridical tutelage of ambience, indicates that the knowledge on the damages caused to the environment must be tackled from the responsibility of the community, by virtue of the principle of solidarity, proper of the social state. Such an interpretation of the contingent condition of the environmental phenomena, its geographic complexity, is analyzed in a critical case for the environmental security, as it is the aviary risk in airports.
