With the perspective of contributing to the knowledge production on Mosqueiro, the present analysis presents the historical-territorial formation of the island that has become a space of touristic attraction for summer vacationer who begin to establish their second residences there. The discussion aims at relating this role of Mosqueiro to the subject of the District emancipation proposal, the real state speculation due to the fluvial beaches attraction and to ecological tourism projects.
