In this article, the sanctification practices of the space arisen around the so called Cromañón Sanctuary are analysed. The space was born almost spontaneously from the tragedy occurred in the disco Republica de Cromañón on December 30, 2004 in which 194 mostly young people died. Around the discussion about the complex concept of popular religiousness, this study proposes to explore the set of practices, representations and speeches the subjects involved; namely, survivors, the victims' relatives and friends, construct about the tragedy as well as its spacialization in the mere place where the facts occurred. The activities set off some kind of differential texture (sacred) demonstrated by means of symbols, rites and marks stamped on the landscape. The methodology used is qualitative, favouring fieldwork, participant observation, in-depth study of interviews, analysis of the speech and the reading of the material and symbolic landscape.
