This article aims at analyzing the environmental history of Pelicurá rural settlement and its area of influence. The area belongs to the District of Tornquist located in the Southwest of Buenos Aires province. In order to understand the changes that took place in this area, it was necessary to identify, through a retrospective look, the events that gave shape to the region. So, time sections were selected according to significant events determined after a climate analysis.  In this way, climate variations and fluctuations that affect the area under study are established.  When conducting the environmental history of the area, a comprehensive analysis of space, pointing out its transformation over time; of the role played by each component of the natural environment; and, at the same time, of the impacts caused by the presence of man was carried out. This contributes to the achievement of a greater understanding of the current environmental situation and prediction of possible future trends, as well as a study basis for decision making by planning agents, with regard to improving the environmental conditions of the area.
