The particular configuration of the coastal area of the white bay (Bahía Blanca) encouraged the setting up of a series of ports that, in time, acquired great importance. This derived in a high concentration of industrial activities. Numerous actions had to be taken to condition the space and several works were carried out in the site. In order to analyze the transformation process of the natural environment of the white bay coastal border and the effects of the permanent advance of the industrial and port area, the methodology used was one that belongs to environmental sciences, i.e. environmental history. This approach was supplemented by a method used in Historical Geography, the Dagwood Sandwich, which results from the combination of two traditional procedures used in such discipline: temporary cut and vertical topic. The information was obtained from diverse historical and geographical sources, among which aerial photographs stand out. This material was a major tool, since it allowed for visualizing the changes that took place in the area of study across time. The aim of this work is to show the results obtained through the visual interpretation of aerial photographs and photo mosaics.
