The assessment of the current status of protected areas should consider the evolution of the territory over time. Environmental History identifies the changes resulting from the society-nature interaction. It allows to address the complexity of the problems to articulate scientific knowledge with environmental management. Historical Geography explores the past to explain the present forms in the space that are a product of society-nature relationship at different times in history. The aim of this paper was to analyze temporarily the current spatial configuration of two protected areas in the province of La Pampa. The areas of study selected were the Provincial Reserve Parque Luro and Lihué Calel National Park. Therefore, the methodology used was the Dagwood Sandwich that complemented temporary samples with a topic as vertical axis generating a dynamic study of the space. As a result, it was found that there is a correspondence between land use and the economic valuation of the Pampa's space with the degree of transformation showed in the current protected areas.
