Resumen

VELAZQUEZ, Aldo et al. Determinación de vulnerabilidad de acuíferos usando método SINTACS por aplicación de plaguicidas en suelos florícolas en Villa Guerrero, Estado de México. Rev. Univ. geogr. [online]. 2017, vol.26, n.2, pp. 111-129. ISSN 1852-4265.

Floriculture activity represents an important economic alternative in the municipality of Villa Guerrero, State of Mexico, where organophosphate and carbamate pesticides if used on a constant and uncontrolled basis may contaminate aquifers. The purpose of this work is, first, to determine the specific vulnerability indexes to contamination of aquifers due to pesticides through the parametric model SINTACS, then, to draw the respective map to identify vulnerable flower-growing zones in 18 communities of the municipality. The specific vulnerability indexes showed a low to medium characterization. The coefficients were calculated from 101 to 120 ranges representing low vulnerability (81-105) and medium vulnerability (106-140). Vulnerability maps were outlined by using the ArcGIS 10.2 software. It should be noted that the aquifer zones where the highest levels of specific vulnerability were found correspond to the central region of the municipality due to the characteristics of the hydro geological units, the slope values and sandy soils which may favor infiltration processes and low runoff velocity.
