Abstract

LOPEZ-GOYBURU, Patricia. Los espacios agropecuarios del espacio de interfase urbano-rural de Buenos Aires en dos momentos históricos, 1972 y 2012. Rev. Univ. geogr. [online]. 2018, vol.27, n.1, pp. 11-27. ISSN 1852-4265.

At the time of the dispersed city characterized by a distribution of specialized points through the territory, a scenario unfolds where the agricultural spaces of the urban-rural interface (UR-I) are threatened. In this article, the main focus is placed on the relationship established between what these spaces of I-UR de Buenos Aires are like and how they look and project towards the end of the 20th century. Therefore, it is necessary to refer to the study of the urban and cartographic documents that address that period. Two aspects are examined, firstly, the distribution of intensive agricultural uses in the I-UR of Buenos Aires in 1972 and 2012, and, secondly, the way two urban plans act in the urban-rural relationship: the Regulatory Plan (1958) and Edge Guidelines (2010). The urban documents show different approaches in each historical moment while the aerial images show the distribution of land use over the territory. The results indicate that the tensions between the actual city and the studied and projected one show different approaches that change according to historical moments and also open a set of questions about the role played by I-UR spaces in the sustainable transformation of the territory.
