Resumen

FERNANDEZ, Sandra N. et al. Avances en la modelación del escurrimiento superficial de una cuenca del sudoeste bonaerense.: Caso de estudio: Sector Superior Cuenca Alta del Río Sauce Grande (Argentina). Rev. Univ. geogr. [online]. 2019, vol.28, n.2, pp. 13-34. ISSN 1852-4265.

This work presents the calibration of the deterministic hydrological model applied to the drainage area of the upper area of the Sauce Grande River, in the southwest of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. There is data from a Meteorological Station and a Limnigraphic Station on the upper Sauce Grande River. The HEC-HMS 4.2.1 program of the Hydrologic Engineering Center developed by the US Army Corps of Engineers was used. The Base flow was extracted by means of the variable slope method, thus obtaining the observed surface runoff hydrograph for each storm. Rain infiltration and abstractions are calculated using the Curve Number method from the Soil Conservation Service. The Muskingum method of flood wave transfer is applied. The output obtained from the analyzed events fit accurately the observed surface runoff hydrographs. Simulated peak flow rates, peak time, and surface runoff volumes were very similar to those observed. The values of the statistic fitting parameter obtained were highly satisfactory, demonstrating that the model adequately represents the response of the basin to real events.
