Abstract

MALISANI, Débora Belén  and  PEREZ ARTICA, Rodrigo. Un diagnóstico del hábitat precario en la ciudad de Bahía Blanca. Rev. Univ. geogr. [online]. 2020, vol.29, n.1, pp. 13-40. ISSN 1852-4265.

The main purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the situation of slums and settlements in the city of Bahía Blanca (Argentina) that serves as a baseline for the discussion of future public policies aimed at solving the issue of precarious habitat. According to official records, there are 32 precarious slums and settlements in the city. These bring together a total of more than eight thousand families, representing about 10% of the total population of the city. We documented a serious public policy deficit that addresses the problems of socio-urban integration of a significant part of the population. In this regard, we present a scheme to organize the evaluation of existing public policy and discuss further interventions.

Keywords : Housing Policy; Right to Housing; Slums.
