Investment portfolio selection involves addressing multiple factors related to the economy, the particular situation of each firm and the investor's preferences. Then, portfolio selection may be considered a multicriteria decision-making problem. The aim of this paper is to show how to evaluate investment decisions in different open capital organizations from various economic sectors, applying the multicriteria decision-making method known as Analytic Hierarchy Process. We discuss how to use hard data to allow an approach that is scalable to any number of alternatives and criteria.
