Abstract

BARBERA-MARINE, M. Glòria; TERCENO, Antonio  and  FABREGAT-AIBAR, Laura. ¿El perfil inversor incide en la capacidad de supervivencia de los fondos de inversión?. Escr. Contab. Adm. [online]. 2017, vol.8, n.1, pp. 43-74. ISSN 1853-2055.

This article analyses the evolution of the Spanish mutual funds market focusing particularly on variations in the relative value of different investment objectives in the current economic climate. A descriptive analysis of the survival capacity of mutual funds in Spain is introduced from a new perspective through the calculation of the mortality rate and the replacement rate. The results show that Spanish investors have moved away from more conservative investment decisions towards more risky alternatives and a greater flexibility regarding the design of their portfolios. This work is relevant due to its detailed market analysis and rate analysis, which provide the investor with additional information regarding the survival capacity of their mutual funds.

Keywords : Mutual Funds; Investment Objectives; Investor Profile; Spanish Financial Market; Survival Capacity.
