In the teaching of organizational theory Max Weber is usually introduced as one of the precursors of the structuralist theory and, especially, as an exponent of the theory of bureaucracy. The contributions of Weber and other authors of several disciplines to the construction of the theoretical and empirical corpus of organization theory are lacking in context and historical background. This article aims to synthesize some reflections about the a-historicity and a-contextualization with which the contributions of the author are presented in the discipline of administrative thought.
