ZACK, Guido. El efecto asimétrico del ciclo económico sobre las condiciones sociales argentinas en el período 2003 - 2015. Estud. Econ. [online]. 2016, vol.33, n.67, pp. 67-95. ISSN 2525-1295.
After the crisis of 2002, Argentina started a process of strong social condition recovery, which slowed from 2007 and has stagnated since 2012. Present situation is slightly better in relation to the 1990s, but worse if the comparison is made with previous decades. Despite the high growth experienced until 2011, income distribution was the main cause of the improvement in poverty and extreme poverty. This article investigates the risk of reversing in the coming years part of the recovery achieved. This risk is based on the possible asymmetric effect of the business cycle on social conditions, analyzed through the growth and income distribution elasticities of poverty and extreme poverty estimated for the 2003 - 2015 period.
